Video shows heartless thieves tossing French bulldog puppies into van during $100K heist

Infuriating surveillance video from a California pet store shows a dognapping crew snatching a dozen French bulldog puppies worth $100,000 and throwing them into their vacation van.

The brutal robbery happened at the Top Dog Pet Store in the 2500 block of Rosecrans Avenue in Gardena around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Security footage from the business captured a large white Chevrolet van pulling up to the store and releasing four masked robbers, station KTLA reported.

The thugs break into the pet shop, setting off the alarm and disturbing the dog sleeping inside, who starts barking wildly.

Ignoring the noise, the bandits methodically grabbed several large cages housing high-priced French bulldog puppies – including a show dog named “Roll X” – and took them out to the van.

Several suspects are then seen on video roughly grabbing the small dogs by the scruff of their necks and throwing them into the back of a vehicle.

“They literally grabbed him and threw him in the van like they were stuffed animals,” said Andres Avalos, owner of the store that was ransacked. “It’s horrible.”

The robbery lasted only a few minutes from start to finish, Avalos said.

The hound made off with 12 purebred canines intended for breeding, along with $2,000 taken from the store’s cash register.

“It’s a huge financial loss,” Avalos said. “The dogs [worth] over $100,000… with the dog gone, it’s going to be harder to get now.”

Avalos said he is concerned for the puppies’ well-being and is offering a large reward for information leading to the safe return of the French pups, no questions asked.

“We love our animals,” he said. “It’s just frustrating knowing they’re out there and we can’t do anything about it.”

Police in Gardena said they are investigating the robbery.

There have been several thefts across the US in recent years targeting French bulldogs, which cost between $3,000 and $9,000 each and can be sold at huge profits on the black market.

The most famous such robbery occurred in February 2021, when Lady Gaga’s two Frenchmen, Koji and Gustav, were robbed by a gun-toting thug who shot and seriously injured her dog walker in Los Angeles.

The Grammy Award winner’s pet was found safe two days later, and the perpetrators were subsequently arrested and brought to justice — with the triggerman in the armed robbery receiving 21 years in prison for attempted murder.
