Career
In 1997, she debuted in the Kannada film, ‘Nagamandala’ and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Kannada for her role as Rani in this film. He has acted in more than 25 Kannada films including ‘Arunodaya’ (1999), ‘Naxalite’ (2000), ‘Mahatma’ (2000), ‘Jogula’ (2003), ‘Nannalla’ (2011), and ‘Fighter’ (2018).

Reportedly, on 22 August 2006, he attempted suicide because he was harassed and stalked by the assistant director, Ramesh.
On July 27, 2020, he again attempted suicide after posting a video on his Facebook account. In his video, he revealed the reason behind the suicide. He said that he was under pressure and constantly bullied by Indian politicians, Seeman and his party members. He further said,
This is my last video. I have been under extreme stress in the last four months because of Seeman and his party members. I tried my best to survive for my mother and sister. I was humiliated by Hari Nadar in the media. I have taken BP tablets. In a moment my BP will be low and I will die.”
Soon after his video, he was rushed to a private hospital and his condition was critical when he was admitted.
