A harrowing video shows Palestinian civilians being shot — apparently by Hamas snipers — while trying to escape a children’s cancer hospital where terrorists have barricaded themselves against ongoing ground attacks by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.
Recording posted on X Friday showed families walking to the side of the road waving white flags before shots rang out, sending people scrambling for cover while a child could be heard crying.
Media intelligence agency Storyful confirmed that the video was shot at al-Nasr Pediatric Hospital based on a Google Maps image, but could not say whether a terrorist group or the Israeli army was responsible.
Freelance journalist Alexander Higgins reported on X that the jihadists began shooting after the Israeli army agreed to allow civilians to evacuate the hospital.
The Israel Defense Forces have surrounded the facility – said to serve as a terrorist stronghold – as it tries to crack down on Hamas in response to the October 7 attack on southern Israel that killed more than 1,400 people, including 33 Americans.
The video emerged a day after the White House said Israel had agreed to end a daily humanitarian pause to allow non-combatants out of the firing line.
Israel has repeatedly appealed to civilians to move south as its forces continue their siege of northern Gaza.

“We carried a white flag and when we walked out, we passed the tank,” Baqr Qaoud, the hospital’s director, told the Washington Post. “I was a few meters away from one.”
As Qaoud walked by, he said, he saw a tank near the building.
The World Health Organization reported that the hospital suffered “significant bombardment” by Israeli airstrikes, and the Hamas-run health ministry later claimed the building caught fire after a direct hit.

Inside, a person who identified themselves as a member of hospital staff appealed for help online, claiming they were under siege.
“We were blocked in the hospital by tanks, and we were exposed to heavy fire against us,” one online post read, according to Reuters.
“We have no electricity supply, no oxygen for patients, no fresh water. The situation here is very difficult and dangerous.”

“While the world sees neighborhoods with schools, hospitals, scout groups, children’s playgrounds and mosques, Hamas sees opportunities to exploit,” the IDF said.
Gaza officials said Israel had attacked al-Shifa Hospital five times since Thursday night.
At least one bullet landed in the courtyard of the building, where the World Health Organization has reported “intense violence.”
The Palestinian Red Crescent has also reported that Israeli forces fired at al-Quds hospital, resulting in violent clashes.
Despite Israel’s warning to evacuate, Gaza health ministry spokesperson Ashrat al-Qidra claimed it was impossible to clear the hospital.
“We are talking about 45 babies in incubators, 52 children in the intensive care unit, hundreds of wounded and sick – and tens of thousands of displaced people,” al-Qidra claimed of residents in al-Shifa.
The health ministry has reported that 18 out of 35 hospitals and 40 other health care centers are out of service due to gunfire damage and fuel shortages.
