Vivek Ramaswamy endorsed by controversial former Iowa Rep. Steve King — who questioned why ‘white nationalist’ was ‘offensive’

Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy was endorsed for president on Tuesday by former Rep. Iowa Republican Steve King, who was voted out of office in 2020 after questioning why the terms “white nationalist” and “white supremacist” had become “offensive.”

“Vivek Ramaswamy will shock the world in the Iowa caucuses because he is the only candidate in this race who has the guts to stand up to the CO2 pipeline here in Iowa, to publicly oppose the climate change cult, to commit to peacefully pardoning the Jan 6 protesters on day one, and end birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants in this country,” King said in a statement.

“If you want someone who will step in and speak truth to power, then vote for someone who will speak truth to YOU. Join me on January 15 in voting for Vivek Ramaswamy, the next President of the United States,” he added.

King, who served 18 years in the House of Representatives, lost his primary race to Rep. Republicans. Randy Feenstra in June 2020 after being stripped of his committee duties for comments that lawmakers from both sides of the aisle deemed offensive and racist.

“White nationalists, white supremacy, Western civilization – how did that language become offensive?” King, 74, told The New York Times in January 2019.

He later released a statement saying that rejects “those labels and the evil ideology they define.”

Ramaswamy, 38, celebrated the support from the former Hawkeye State MP.

“This is not support from politicians. It’s from a true patriot,” the biotech entrepreneur wrote on X.

“Most people are sheep when it comes to authentication, but [King] didn’t do what he was ‘supposed to do,’” Ramaswamy said in another post. “He voted his conscience and that’s why I respect him.”

“Steve King was America First before it was great. People like Steve King & Pat Buchanan were the OGs. He didn’t back down from a fight and he certainly didn’t bow to the Establishment. Grateful for his support. Next #shocktheworld on Jan 15,” he added.
