Career
Power lifters
Vladimir got access to the internet at the age of 14 and started watching videos of American bodybuilders and bloggers like David Leid; Inspired by them, he decided to follow the same course but there was no gym in Kryshtopivka so he built his own gym using Soviet-era tractor parts, wood and bricks and named it Golds Gym Kryshtopivka.
In 2016, he moved to Kyiv to finish his studies. He wanted to buy a Canon 600D camera so he started working as a waiter and courier boy along with his university classes. In 2018, he participated in the Powerlifting Regional Competition and took first place, and in the Kyiv 2018 World Championships took third place.
After completing his studies, he moved to Moscow with $1000 in his pocket and began preparing for powerlifting competitions. In 2020, he participated in the Moscow Open Cup. In the same year, he got the title of ‘International Class Master of Sports’ in powerlifting and became an elite powerlifter (to become an elite powerlifter, the amount of powerlifting consisting of maximum squat, maximum bench press, and maximum deadlift, must be in top 10 totals in their respective weight classes).
YouTubers
Vladimir’s YouTube journey began at 16. On December 20, 2015, he created his YouTube channel under the name Vladimir Shmondenko and began recording his workout videos using his phone. In 2016, he moved to Kyiv where he bought a Canon 600D camera and recorded better quality videos. Through continuous efforts to improve the quality of his content and videos, he accumulated 40k subscribers on his YouTube channel by the end of 2019.
In 2019, Vladimir moved to Moscow to find better opportunities and collaborate with other fitness content creators. His YouTube channel continues to grow as his content is well received by viewers. He would often create prank videos where he would pretend to be a cleaner, an old man or a new trainer to fool people at the gym. The video increased its popularity in Russia and Ukraine.
However, in 2021, when war broke out between Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir sold everything and moved to Dubai. He faced the biggest obstacle in the form of a language barrier. To overcome this challenge, he started learning English and created a new YouTube channel, Anatoly, for English-speaking viewers. His prank videos have been well-received by English-speaking audiences, making him a popular YouTuber among them as well.
