A water main break in Times Square on Tuesday morning closed streets in Midtown and suspended subway service, officials said.
Service on line No. 1, 2 and 3 “will be severely disrupted in Manhattan for at least the morning rush hour,” the MTA said, adding that it was working to clear water from the affected tracks.
No service on route No. 1 between Chambers and 96th streets, officials said. Riders are advised to take trains A, B, C and D instead.
Train No. 2 is running on route 5 between Nevins Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse. Between Brooklyn and Manhattan, riders should take the B, D, N, Q, R, 4 and 5 trains, the MTA said.
Between the Bronx and Manhattan, local buses can be used to get to the A, B, C and D trains, he added.
Service on line No. 1, 2 and 3 have been suspended.
Train No. 3 also does not run between 96th Street and Chambers.
For service to Manhattan, take the B, D, N, Q and R trains at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. For service in Brooklyn, take the 4 and 5 trains, as advised. 5 trains are making local stops in Brooklyn.
The break happened about 3 a.m. Tuesday on Seventh Avenue between 39th and 40th streets, WPIX reported, adding that officials said they won’t know the cause of the break until they dig.

Seventh Avenue is closed from 39th to 41st streets and 39th Street is closed between Sixth and Eighth streets.
