Weight Loss Drug Taking Over Social Media Has Scary Side Effect Called ‘Ozempic Face’

The latest weight loss trend taking the US and social media by storm is Ozempic.

It is an anti-diabetic drug used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and as an anti-obesity drug for long-term weight management, developed by Novo Nordisk in 2012.

It has become a very hot commodity among the Hollywood elite and the common man. It became a sensation because of the increased demand that there was a shortage of Ozempic.

Novo Nordisk is working to resolve the issue earlier this year.

Since Ozempic is being used as a weight loss drug for non-obese and non-diabetic people, something called “Ozempic Face” has developed as a side effect of rapid and drastic weight loss.

Many who have used Ozempic and similar drugs for rapid weight loss now claim their faces look old.

“Ozempic Face” Is a New Drug Side Effect

A woman named Jennifer Berger used Mounjaro (tirzepatide) to lose weight after pregnancy.

He told The New York Times the drug allowed him to lose 20 pounds and he loved it.

“I remember looking in the mirror, and it was almost like I didn’t recognize myself,” she told the outlet. “My body looks great, but my face looks tired and old.”

New York-based plastic surgeon, Dr. Oren Tepper, says it’s common for weight loss to flatten major parts of the face, which can ultimately make a person look older than their actual age.

“When it comes to facial aging, fat is usually more of a friend than an enemy,” she says. “Weight loss may turn your biological age back, but it tends to turn your clock face forward.”

Chelsea Operator Sounds On Ozempic

Chelsea Handler recently opened up about her concerns about using and abusing Ozempic on the “Call Her Dad” podcast.

“Can you believe how many people in LA use that thing?” host Alex Cooper said to Handler.

“It’s going to backfire, something bad is going to happen,” Handler said. “It’s a miracle. It’s too good to be true.”

Some ‘Real Housewives’ have also spoken about the drug.

Kylie Richards has been accused of using Ozempic for rapid weight loss, which she has denied several times.

“I have never tried ozempic and this is not from plastic surgery,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star commented on Instagram.

She admitted to having a breast reduction in May 2022, but denied using any implants to lose weight.
