Recalling, she shared, “When we first started dating, I remember I would fly from Nashville to Los Angeles, and I was cooking for [Sarah] and made [her] … shrimp tacos one night and my famous skirt steak taco recipe.”
The 39-year-old bartender shared on the podcast that Hyland once asked him what his hypothetical “death row dish” or “last meal” would be and his wife revealed that he would be her taco.

During a candid exchange on the podcast, Adams revealed that their relationship had been kept secret due to Hyland’s health challenges, including a kidney transplant.
“I’m in quarantine, so I can’t leave the house because my immune system is very, very low,” explained Hyland.
With limited visitors allowed, the “Modern Family” alum highlighted the unconventional beginnings of their romance. She said, “When we first started dating, we couldn’t go out to restaurants, and it wasn’t like we had our first date at a restaurant. Our first meal together was at my house in Studio City. He came and visited and made us shrimp tacos.”

For this, Adams recalls a funny incident involving his sister and her famous shrimp tacos. “It’s funny because I lived in Nashville for 12 years, and there were a few years when I lived with my sister … and I remember we were making shrimp tacos and my sister texted me, ‘You’re not so crafty. I know what you are doing. You make your shrimp tacos.’”
“Sarah had posted, ‘This is what I’m eating tonight,'” he added.
Hyland fondly recalls their happy night, saying, “He cooked for me, and I’ve never had a man cook for me before, so it was very special. And obviously, I love tacos, and he’s really good at making them.”
