More than two weeks after Lifetime aired its project focusing on Williams, Morrissey’s contention that Williams “was not, and was not, able to agree to the terms” of the documentary contract has surfaced.
In case you missed it, Williams’ care team revealed that he was diagnosed in 2023 with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia on February 22, 2024.
Due to his medical condition, Morrissey asserts that “Williams]lacked capacity when the Contract was purportedly executed, and he remained so.”
Morrissey stressed that all contracts, including those involving documentaries containing personal footage of the talk show host, require court and guardian approval before being aired publicly. However, the court-appointed financial guardian argued that “no such approval was requested or provided.”
Morrissey stated in the complaint that he allowed the documentary to proceed on the condition that the project would only proceed with “final review and approval of the Guardian and the courts, which are responsible for [Williams’] well-being.”
However, he insisted that no such permission was sought, and that he was “horrified” when the trailer was released because he was confident the documentary would portray Williams in a positive light.

Describing the situation as “a blatant exploitation of a vulnerable woman loved by millions, both inside and outside the African American community,” the document further denounced it as disgusting and unacceptable.
Despite being listed as an executive producer, the lawsuit alleges Williams has consistently been unable to manage his own business and personal affairs, having been placed under the supervision and supervision of the court.
According to the complaint received by ETthe writer does not have the capacity to approve how “he is filmed and portrayed in trailers and documentaries.”
In filing, Morrissey sought a temporary restraining order on the documentary, initially granted but later overturned by superior court Appeals Judge Peter H. Moulton.
Moultou concluded that blocking the broadcast of the documentary would constitute an “unauthorized preliminary restriction on speech” in violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment.

Despite his concerns in the complaint, The Blast revealed that the Williams family did not trust Morrissey.
In a report published last month, it was shared that the family publicly criticized the care, declaring that the system had significantly limited their access to Williams. In the words of Williams’ sister Wanda Finnie:
“How did she go from the aunt or sister that we love and are healthy for a minute to this person who is in and out of the hospital? How is that system better than a family-run system? I do not know. I know that the system is broken. I hope that at some point, Wendy becomes strong enough where she can speak for herself.”
Wendy Williams Slammed For Not Paying Taxes By Authorities
MEGA
Williams faced more difficulties when his expensive condo in New York City was threatened by federal authorities, who claimed he owed $568,451.57. Although he reportedly bought the house for $4.5 million in 2021, the huge sum was due to unpaid federal taxes for 2019 and 2021.
Records show that the tax lien was established in January, but it was not officially recorded with the New York City Department of Finance until early February. At the time of The Blast’s coverage, there were no signs that the matter had been resolved.
Still, Morrissey may have dealt with the lien. Morrissey was appointed finance officer around Spring 2022, suggesting he may not have known about the alleged tax breaches.

When it comes to her aunt’s well-being, Finnie shared that Williams is now “in a place of emotional healing” and no longer resembles the troubled individual depicted in “Where Is Wendy Williams?”
He added, “I don’t know what worked, but I know that when he contacted me, it was a very different person than what we saw in the documentary.”
