‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Star Vanna White Will Miss Filming For The First Time In Decades

“Wheel Of Fortune” star Vanna White reportedly went missing on the legendary letter board.

According to reports, White, the 66-year-old “Wheel Of Fortune” co-host, will not be appearing in an upcoming episode of the game show. White, who has been a mainstay of “Wheel Of Fortune” and popular culture since he first hosted the show in the early eighties, is reportedly at the center of a contract dispute.

White co-host Pat Sajak is said to be paid “more than half” of what she makes, and the hostess is looking to rectify the issue.

If White is given the raise he is seeking, it will reportedly be his first raise in 18 years.

Amid the alleged contract dispute, White was also reportedly ill with COVID-19 last month. His illness required the show’s “Teacher Of The Year” recipient from “Teacher Week,” which, according to The New York Post, was being filmed at the time, to temporarily step into White’s shoes.

The Teacher of the Year recipient was Bridget Donald-Blue. Donald-Blue will be White’s replacement for the entirety of ‘Teacher Week,’ the outlet also reported.

The last time White was reported to have spent a significant amount of time away from the “Wheel Of Fortune” cameras was nearly three decades ago.

While “Wheel Of Fortune” will be going live, White has spoken openly about the sadness he feels for his co-host ‘brother’ leaving the show. In an interview with People, according to our report, White talked about the close relationship he’s maintained with Sajak over the years and admitted the thought of hosting without him was “sad.”

“I don’t want to think about that,” White told the outlet in part, about moving on from his legendary career. “I mean, we are a team. That’s sad. I don’t want to think about it,” he repeated.

White went on to say, “I can’t image. Everyone attributes ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ to Pat and Vanna. We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know? We’ve been at everyone’s house for 40 years, so it’s weird if someone else is delivering my letter.”

Reflecting on her job, the “Wheel Of Fortune” hostess also described her experience as “amazing. I can’t believe it’s been 40 years. I’ve loved every minute of it, to be honest.”

He knew it was rare to be in his position. White continued, “Who still says they love their job after 40 years? I do! I really do. It’s a fun show. Everybody watches it and enjoys it and it changes people’s lives and it makes people happy. So it’s a good job,” said White.

As of this writing, White has not spoken about his reported contract negotiations.
