Biallelic mutations in the PLA2G6 gene have been identified as the most frequent cause of INAD.”

The first symptom of INAD may be delayed achievement of normal developmental milestones or regression in developmental milestones. Trunk hypotonia, strabismus, and nystagmus are early symptoms of this disease”.
