Dawn and Osaro Ighodaro, Oso Ighodaro’s parents, are educators. Dawn and Osaro have worked in and around Phoenix, Arizona, for many years. The 6’11 forward from Marquette University was inspired by his father, Osaro, a former professional athlete. His father also has a degree, and his sister used to work for Morgan Stanley.
As a result, the child comes from a successful household. And Oso did not disappoint his family in court. Oso has been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team every year since he arrived at Marquette in 2020. Oso, considered one of the best players at his institution, is projected by Sports Illustrated as a second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Oso was recently featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel with freshman Al Amadou, as a guide to youth.

Dawn and Osaro Ighodaro, Oso Ighodaro’s parents, are not publicly known. The couple did not give any interviews to the media. Both Osaro Ighodaro and his wife, Dawn Ighodaro, are teachers. Osaro Ighodaro, Oso’s father, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northern Arizona University in 1990 and 1992, respectively. Osaro also played college basketball at NAU and later professionally in Belgium. Later, Osaro continued his studies and received a PhD in Political Science from NAU.
After concluding that basketball was not for him, Osaro became the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Scottsdale Community College. He worked in Scottsdale for two years before taking the same job at Glendale Community College. Osaro was appointed Vice President of Student Affairs at South Mountain Community College in 2012. He worked there for 11 years and just left in June of this year. Dawn Ighodaro, Oso’s mother, earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Health and Physical Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Dawn worked as Director of Admissions and Marketing and then as After School Administrator at Summit School of Ahwatukee until 2021. Dawn worked at Summit School of Ahwatukee for 23 years and also worked as an Education Specialist in and around Phoenix during that time.
Fajar currently works in three different places, fulfilling various responsibilities. She worked as an Operations Consultant at Carlo Rockmore LLC, Development Assistant at Espanola Humane, and Podcast Coordinator at House of Shine. Dawn, unlike her husband, is active on social media but rarely posts on her Facebook page. His latest post shows Oso hoisting the Big East Championship trophy, which the team won in March.
Oso Ighodaro Siblings : Meet Osaso Ighodaro’s Sister
Oso Ighodaro is not the only child of his parents; he has a sister named Osaso Ighodaro. Unlike his older brother, Osaso was unaffected by his father’s success as a basketball player and pursued a different path. Osaso earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. Osaso graduated with honors in 2021 and also earned a BS in finance and economics.
Osaso is an honors student at Eller, a member of Pi Beta Phi, and a member of the Investment Club. Osaso also stated that she will pursue a minor in Spanish and a degree in Sports Marketing or Global Business in a Facebook post published by Eller in 2018. Osaso held two jobs at Eller, as a front desk assistant for the Dean’s Office in the College of Humanities and as a Manager Campus for University Tees. After graduation, Osaso worked at Morgan Stanley in the Global Industrials Group as an investment banking analyst. He currently works with AEA Investors, a middle market private equity firm based in the United States.
