Cade McNamara has lucky parents who regularly attend his games and cheer him on from the stands. Cade’s father, a former baseball player, wanted his son to follow in his footsteps, but he didn’t push him when he chose football. Cade McNamara began his football career in 2015 at Damonte Ranch High School.
McNamara set Nevada school football records with 12,804 passing yards and 146 touchdowns during his four years at Damonte. His outstanding play earned him the Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018. McNamara committed to the University of Notre Dame before transferring to the University of Michigan. The quarterback played 21 games with the Wolverines before moving on to the Iowa Hawkeyes. Unfortunately, his 2023 season was cut short due to a season-ending knee injury.

“Brutal,” Gary described it. “I stopped coaching after that season.”

Nicole, a pillar of the McNamara family, also brings her athletic skills to the table, having played college basketball. Nicole outlined the sacrifices her children voluntarily make for their art, recognizing the dedication required to thrive in athletics. He recalled missing prom because of the skills camp, stressing that their devotion was not from bad parental instruction, but from their desire to succeed in football. This commitment to their spirit is still a driving concept in the McNamara household.
