Growing up in a Sports Family
Tanner Mordecai’s youth in Waco was deeply intertwined with athletics. He found himself constantly on the go growing up near Baylor University and attending Midway High School, watching his brothers’ softball games and eventually carving out a football career for himself. Micah felt comfortable in this athletic setting because of his family’s experience in college athletics and his father’s professional tennis background. Despite their sporting achievements, the Mordecai family prioritized important principles.
Prioritizing academics and fostering independence are two ideas that stand out. Micah and Leann developed a strict attitude where homework came first.
