Boogie Ellis was born in San Diego, California to parents Rejean Tremaine Ellis and Rowiena Simpson. His parents always showed unwavering support for his basketball career, attending every game and actively pushing him to succeed. Boogie Ellis attended Mission Bay High School for all four years of his high school studies. Ellis, a four-star prospect, chose Duke University for his college basketball career but later switched his commitment to Memphis. He transferred to the University of Southern California (USC) after appearing in 59 games for Memphis. Ellis was named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 during his junior year at USC. As of this writing, he has started every game during his three years at USC.

Boogie Ellis was born on December 12, 2000, in a family of different origins, including his parents, Rejean Tremaine Ellis and Rowiena Simpson (he has mixed black and Filipino ancestry). Ellis grew up with four siblings as a child. Her grandmother, Corazon Simpson, is from Caloocan, so she has deep family ties to the Philippines.

Ellis has yet to visit the Philippines, although his mother, Rowiena, went regularly as a child. Nevertheless, he expressed a strong desire to play for the Philippine national team if given the opportunity. Boogie Ellis opened up about his life-changing journey after transferring to the University of Southern California, stressing that joining USC allowed his family to be there for every game. He also emphasized his excitement to be back home, surrounded by relatives, and playing against players he’s known and played against since high school.

A win against Stanford

The USC men’s basketball team defeated Stanford 93-79 in a stunning effort at the Galen Center on Saturday, with Isaiah Collier, Boogie Ellis, and Kobe Johnson all scoring 20 or more points. Isaiah Collier led all scorers with 26 points, hitting 9 of 15 shots while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists. Boogie Ellis showed his ability from beyond the arc, scoring 22 points and making 6 of 8 3-point attempts.

Kobe Johnson rounded out the trio with 21 points and an all-around effort that included five assists, five rebounds, and five steals.
