The early years
Landry grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is the fifth and youngest child of his parents. As the son of a sugarcane farmer, he always rode the tractor, even on weekends, to make sure the sugarcane fields were ready. It taught him at a young age that he didn’t want to be a sugar cane farmer, but it also instilled in him a strong work ethic, Landry said in an interview. He attended Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He aspires to play basketball at Louisiana State University. Landry played basketball in high school at Catholic High. He had a longtime ambition to play basketball for Louisiana State University as a child. He tried out for the freshman squad after high school but was cut. But he did not give up and continued to practice in the nearby park every day until he succeeded in the second year. He was a walk-on from 1997 to 2000.
What sparked the concept for Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux?
According to Landry, he only played seven minutes his senior season, so he realized early in his career that he wasn’t going to play in the NBA and get paid to do so. That’s when the concept for Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux drink came to me. While traveling the world as a member of the LSU basketball team, he and teammate Jack Warner discovered a need for something that brought Louisiana, their athletics and their narrative forward.
They started scribbling on the bev sheet on the way home after the University of Tennessee game. When they returned to LSU, they discussed their proposal with their entrepreneurship professor, who completed his business plan assignment each year. They only had one place in mind where they could flip burgers and sling beer and make a living, so they started working at the restaurant. They begin to develop a business strategy and seek the help of certain investors. Six banks refused the loan, but they continued to play with the mind of walking. On their seventh attempt, they managed to get a loan. Walk-On began franchising in 2014 and has 75 locations in 13 states.
He resigned as CEO.
Landry will step down as CEO of Walk-On’s sports, Bistreaux, and bar business, which he founded two decades ago. COO Scott Taylor, who has been with Walk’s On for a decade, will take over. Landry said in a statement that Scott is the right candidate to take over as CEO of the brand as it approaches its 20th year, as he and Scott have established a cultural team focused on producing best-in-class support results for its franchise partners over the previous twelve years. Since 2010, Scott has served as president and chief operating officer.
He has a happy married life.
Landry and his wife, Macky, are happily married. Landry married his wife on December 12, 2015, and they have been together ever since. On December 12, 2016, the couple became parents for the first time when their first child Jett was born. They have two additional children, Sloan, a girl, and Law, a boy.

He has an impressive net worth of about $5 million as a successful entrepreneur as of July 2023.
