Mick Cronin, a Cincinnati native, grew up with his older brother Dan Cronin, who is now a professional handicapper. Dan, like his brother Mick, played college basketball, but he chose to pursue a career in horse racing rather than professional basketball. Mick Cronin is the head coach of the UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team at the University of California.
Beginning his career in 1991, he worked as an assistant coach at Woodward High. Mick held similar roles at the University of Cincinnati from 1996 to 2001 and the University of Louisville from 2001 to 2003. Likewise, his career began in 2003 when he became the head coach of the Murray State Racers. Additionally, the head coach had an influential thirteen-season career with the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2006 to 2019.
