Next Level Chef is back for a new season, and 18 new chefs are ready to compete in culinary challenges. The show’s second season will air on Fox on Sunday, February 12 at 10:30pm ET, following the Super Bowl. For guidance, participants will be placed in three groups. Darryl Taylor, an Atlanta-based chef, is one of the world-renowned chefs competing for the $250,000 grand prize with Richard Blais’ team. Taylor founded Epicurean Drama Caterers and Events, a food-related company, 12 years ago.
His customers praise him for providing excellent service with “a little bit of drama, Epicurean Drama more specifically.” When preparing a meal, he is known for setting aside all spoons, measuring cups, and rules. Taylor is known as the “Drama Chef” for his spectacular catering performances.
Next Level Chef is described by Fox as follows:
“Talented contestants from across the country battle each other and demonstrate their culinary skills in front of an esteemed panel of judges to win the coveted title.”
Next Level Chef competitor Darryl Taylor appears as a guest presenter on ABC’s In Good Taste.
Darryl Taylor, 52, is a chef who appears as a guest presenter on the ABC series In Good Taste. Before moving to Atlanta, he worked as an Associate Chef at many event firms in Memphis, Tennessee, and he is also the owner of Taylor’s Riverfront, an upscale event venue. Darryl went on to found Epicurean Drama Caterers & Events, known for serving fresh, modern and striking food and decor. Many celebrities have used the company’s services, including NeNe Leakes, Lisa Nicole Cloud, Samuel L. Jackson, and Phaedra Parks.
His company slogan is:
“When it should be remembered, an Epicurean Drama.”
The Next Level Chef contestant said in an interview that she originally declined to join the program. However, he said he only agreed to participate since Gordon Ramsay was one of his mentors. Darryl acknowledges Ramsay is the hero of his novel, saying:
“I’ve always claimed that if I ever did a program with him, he wouldn’t talk to me like that, but I never thought I’d have the chance to go on one of his shows.”
Taylor said in one of the interviews before filming that she would marry Ramsay if she could. He then asked the videographer to delete the tape, but the latter refused. Darryl realized immediately after the tournament started that Gordon had seen the tape and went after him. When Ramsay asked what his favorite sandwich was, he said “a curry chicken sandwich with sun-dried cranberries.”
Darryl notes that the sandwich is popular with his customers, but Gordon dismisses it as “s*it on bread.” The first shot back at Ramsay, saying,
“Alright, let me tell you something. Later you want to hit your mother.”
Taylor later said that he didn’t bother her much after that. On the set of Next Level Chef, he was also nicknamed “Drama Chef” by his colleagues.
