Status Report on Neale Daniher
In a recent interview with “Let’s Talk,” Bec Daniher shared some important updates on her father’s health. In 2013, Neale was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). He was informed by doctors that he would not live beyond the first 27 months. Ten years after her diagnosis, in 2023, she has defied the odds, according to her daughter Bec Daniher. However, the disease is slowly but steadily changing the odds. Neale has lost his ability to communicate.
“Dad can’t talk anymore,” said Bec. The presence of death was more real than it had ever been… “I could feel it creeping up on me.”
Neale, her famous father, is the co-founder of FightMND, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for MND and creating a world free of MND. FightMND has raised more than $10.45 million in AUD for disease research. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for MND in humans, while drug therapies to aid in delaying development have been licensed.
