The 48-year-old started gymnastics after being inspired by the gymnastics movie “American Anthem” in 1986. From that day, he vowed to become a gymnast, to open a gymnastics club similar to the one featured in the movie. Despite her first setback, she traveled 30 minutes to the nearest gymnastics club for a tryout at the age of sixteen. Chris transitioned from owning and directing the national gymnastics power for two decades to focus on training top gymnasts around the world in June 2019.
His new endeavor is a full-time devotion to fathering three artistically oriented, athletically gifted, unconventional children. The family’s collective love grew into rock climbing, both indoor and outdoor, once they got involved in their activities in LA and Austin. With years as a gymnastics club owner, top coach, and competition host behind her, and as her children grow older and more independent, she is excited for her next new experience.

Kim Zmeskal married Chris Burdette on October 23, 1999, after meeting when they were both 19 years old. The legendary Karolyi farm, where their paths first met, became the backdrop for their wedding. Chris and Kim, a dynamic team, began their professional journey in 2001, tasked with developing Texas Dream Gymnastics in Coppell, Texas. Their coaching history dates back to the beginning of this gymnastics school, and they happily took over ownership of Texas Dreams Gymnastics in 2009.
The Burdettes have three children, two boys, Ryder and Koda, and a girl, Riven, as a monument to their shared experiences. However, according to Kim’s Instagram, she appears to have started a new chapter in her personal life, hinting at her split from Chris Burdette.
