Meet Nuri Muhammad, who will be on Next Level Chef season 2!

Nuri Muhammad, also known as “Chef Stretch” in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is one of 18 contestants who will compete in the upcoming season of Next Level Chef. According to an interview with Vogaye Baltimore in 2022, the chef began experimenting in the kitchen at a very early age. He said, he was too worried to wait in the kitchen while his mother took care of his younger sister and often got his own food.

During the interview, he stated:

“I will prepare juice boxes, cheese strings, crackers, and wine for my family affair. They would see me in the vehicle and wonder why we didn’t think of it. I watch Gordon Ramsey, Chopped, Iron Chef, and Cutthroat Kitchen after school. My after school entertainment consisted of cooking programs.”

The Next Level Chef season 2 contestant said, he often helps his mother in the kitchen as his contribution to their home. Her younger sister was in elementary school when she started high school, and she would cook her snacks after school and raise them for her, adding her own flair. Nuri spoke to WTOP about her experience on the upcoming episode, saying that it exceeded her expectations. She says that spending time on set, filming, and doing everything necessary to make the show an experience makes her feel like a genuine celebrity.

The lowest level, the basement, according to Season 2’s Next Level Chef cast members, has been “completely finished.” He went on to say that the basement housed the poorest cooking utensils and supplies, which other cooks refused to use. The chef went on to praise Gordon Ramsay, calling him “the most brilliant man.” He mentioned the chef’s approach throughout the program and mentioned the mentor component. Chef Ramsay, who was usually seen delivering the heat on previous series, takes on the role of mentor on Next Level Chef.

Nuri stated:

“It’s kind of weird pretending and then having real cameras and real people and chefs coming at you in front of you, and you have to cook and have a conversation without looking like an idiot.”

Next Level Chef season 2 premieres Sunday, February 12, at 10:30pm ET, immediately following the Super Bowl, before returning to its regular air date on Thursday, February 8, at 8pm ET on Fox.
