Then in the 2016-2017 season, he became the club’s deputy general manager. Koby eventually became the club’s general manager in 2017. At the time of the announcement of her engagement to Koby Altman, she was still working as a registered nurse at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

Sophie Jane Altman, their daughter, was born in December 2017 and was diagnosed with gastroschisis when she was still in his mother’s womb. Altman Family and Early Career
Koby Altman was born to his mother, Deborah Altman, on September 16, 1982, in Brooklyn, New York. He is her only child. Deborah, his mother, is a social worker who works at Sheepshead Bay High School. Altman was raised as a single parent by his mother since his father was absent from his life as a young child. His family was lower middle class, but his mother never made him feel deprived.
Deborah, according to Altman, was a loving, powerful and independent woman who taught him everything he knew, including basketball. Deborah, a graduate of the University of North Carolina, has been interested in basketball since college and has been a New York Knicks devotee. Koby inherited his mother’s passion for the game and started playing basketball at a young age. Koby attended Middlebury College after graduating in 1999, where he was a point guard for the basketball team. He never played professional basketball, however.
He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Amherst College in 2007. Altman also coached at two other institutions, Southern Illinois (2009-2010) and Columbia (2010-2012), before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2012.
