Matt Napolitano and his husband, Ricky Whitcomb, opened up about their LGBT relationship. Napolitano died on Saturday in New York City, after a brief illness. He was 33 years old then. Napolitano has been with Fox News since 2015, first as a writer for the Sirius XM program Fox News Headlines 24/7.
His rapid progress led him to become a sports reporter for the same station. Although he temporarily left the network as a full-time employee in 2022, he returned in November of that year, coinciding with Fox News’ increased attempts to develop its audio content efforts. Napolitano works as an anchor and reporter for Fox News, creating and producing work for all audio platforms. Additionally, he provides sports coverage for Fox Business Network’s daily series “Cavuto: Coast to Coast,” hosted by Neil Cavuto. Additionally, Napolitano provides commentary for the Fox News Edge service, which provides news coverage and multimedia packages to Fox affiliate stations across the country.

Matt Napolitano is survived by his partner, whom he married on May 27, 2023. Ricky Whitcomb, his husband, graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in theater production in 2006. Whitcomb’s professional experience includes working as an event promoter for StarQuest International Inc from August 2014 to June 2018. Between August 2018 to July 2019, he worked as a stage coordinator at the AV Workshop. Then, from July to October 2019, he worked as the technology services coordinator of the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.
Prior to November 2022, he was the event technology director and technical director of Sns Staging. The couple made their LGBT identification public and offered a snapshot of their life together, including moments of joy and pride. Whitcomb’s satisfaction with Napolitano’s success was underscored in one of their moments together, with the phrase “only my husband brought it up on national television.”

Ricky Whitcomb, Napolitano’s husband, confirmed her husband’s death on X. Whitcomb noted in one of his notes that Napolitano had been battling an autoimmune condition discovered about two decades ago and died of an infection. Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott praised Napolitano’s passion and versatility in journalism.
Scott said in a message sent to Fox News employees on December 24,
“Matt does everything from anchoring to writing and producing for our audio platform and loves being able to work in the field of journalism he trained his whole life.”
