Whoopi Goldberg Repeats Holocaust Comments
MEGAGoldberg went viral again on December 26 for repeating January’s comments about the Holocaust. The “Till” star told The Sunday Times that she doesn’t understand why her earlier statement was so controversial. He also pointed out that many Jews are divided whether they are ethnic or religious.
Goldberg said, “My good friend said, ‘It’s not for nothing that there isn’t a box on the census for Jews.’ So that leads me to believe that we might not be one race.” He also questions why Jews believed the Nazi categorization of their people as a race.
When the interviewer gave the example of the Nazis measuring facial features to determine whether a person was Jewish or not, Goldberg objected. He said, “They do that to black people too. But it doesn’t change the fact that you can’t tell a Jew on the street. You can find me. You can’t find them. That’s what I’m saying.”

Goldberg first made the controversial Holocaust comment during a Jan. 31 discussion of a Tennessee school ban on the graphic novel “Maus” by Art Spiegelman. He said the Holocaust was never about race but rather “about man’s cruelty to man.”
His comments quickly went viral online and generated a great response on social media. Shortly after, the “Sister Act” star released a statement apologizing, saying she “should have said it was about both.”
He wrote per Many people, “As Jonathan Greenblatt of the Anti-Defamation League shared, ‘The Holocaust was about the Nazis’ systematic extermination of the Jews—whom they considered an inferior race. I have been corrected.”
A day after his apology, Goldberg was suspended from his co-host position on the ABC talk show for two weeks. Upon his return, he stated that the show would continue to have those difficult and controversial conversations.
