On Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” Goldberg acted in an unlikely fashion by leaving the set in the middle of an argument with his co-host.
The discussion revolved around a viral video of Miranda Lambert expressing frustration at fans taking selfies during her concert in Las Vegas.
Upon reviewing the viral video, Sunny Hostin set up his tent with concertgoers, defending their right to take as many selfies as they want, especially given the high cost of the show. Hostin also stated that he would do the same in their position.
However, Goldberg has a different perspective and explains that attending a show is about being immersed in the show.
“You know what? Stay home. If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect to watch me do my thing, or don’t come,” Goldberg replied.
Whoopi Goldberg Walks Off The Set To Prove A Point
After Goldberg’s answer, Hostin went on to explain the reason behind him wanting to take pictures every time he goes to the show.
“Maybe I want to play it again,” said the 54-year-old, hinting that he wanted to do it to have unforgettable memories. He added, “Maybe I want the picture, and I want the music in the background.”
Goldberg, visibly annoyed by the back-and-forth, said loudly, “I’m leaving you guys!.” He then abruptly left his seat, leaving his bewildered co-host questioning his actions.
In a jovial attempt to assert his position, he approached an audience member and asked for a photo together just before the show ended.
Goldberg said, “I wanted to take a picture with this amazing woman, who is 91 years old. So, we’re going to do a selfie. Just me and you. Are you going to press that button?”

Lambert calling out certain attendees on his show has also sparked a range of reactions from fans online. Several people have expressed their displeasure, criticizing the singer for trying to dictate what his audience can and cannot do during his performance.
“Is he going to call people to go to the bathroom too? That’s so inappropriate…if I pay…I’ll take as many pictures as I want,” one commented.
“I mean if they’re having fun, taking pictures (to look back on) and they’re not bothering anyone – why is he worried about it,” said a second fan.
Others vowed that if they were in their position called by Lambert, they would leave the concert.
“I’m going to go and dispute the charge on my card for the ticket. if I pay to be there, I will spend it as I want,” said another.
“I think everyone should have gone at that sad time,” commented another.
Miranda Faces More Criticism
Recently, Lambert faced further criticism from online users after posting about animal care while she has yet to address her actions at her concerts.
The singer, who is also an avid animal advocate, uploaded a picture of herself wearing a shirt with the quote, “It takes balls…to bathe and neuter your pets!”
Lambert doubled down on the caption and asked fans to click on the link to “learn why it matters” and buy their own shirt.
Fans found the post insensitive, and some of them creatively used words from her caption to mock the singer.
One person commented, “How about you remove your mean attitude towards your fans?” while another wrote, “It takes time to not apologize or see a problem with your actions.”
A third person wrote, “This girl took a selfie when she should have apologized, and it’s totally DISTURBING ME.”
