Erica Mena, who had previously been punished for keeping her eldest child out of the spotlight, became enraged and flipped over a table containing two LHHATL actors.
Production staff immediately intervened and separated the two. Despite no physical contact, Mena used a racist epithet against the Jamaican singer, calling her a “blue b*nkey.” Shortly after the episode aired, the franchise released a statement online announcing Mena’s departure from the show.
Erica Mena was fired from LHHATL season 11 for using a racial slur on Spice.
Spice and Erica Mena met to talk on the August 29, 2023 episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta (LHHATL) season 11, but things didn’t go as planned and the production crew had to intervene.
As Erica Mena congratulates Spice on her profession and praises her as a mother, the conversation takes a turn when Spice reveals that her own son doesn’t like her.
The statement angered the LHHATL season 11 cast, who turned the tables, prompting the crew to intervene. Physical aggression is nothing new to the show’s viewers, who have seen cast members throw punches, drinks and other objects. However, what happened next was extraordinary, as Erica Mena shouted racial slurs at the Jamaican musician in a fit of rage.
He referred to Spice as a “blue b*nkey,” which angered fans and cast members. Shekinah, who was at the scene, told the camera that it was completely untrue. He also mentioned that Erica Mena has black children, specifically Jamaican children, and questioned how she would feel if the same statement was applied to her children.
