Wil pitched a perfect game his sophomore year. After choosing to attend the University of South Carolina, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals. In 2008, his squad won the state title. Royals of Kansas City Wil was drafted as a catcher by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft, with the 91st overall pick.
