Wild video shows bird’s-eye-view of Ukraine drone ‘delivering explosive gift,’ destroying Russian truck

A thrilling video captures the moment a Ukrainian soldier expertly lands a “kamikaze drone” inside an invading Russian truck just seconds before detonating a deadly explosion.

Split screen footage shows both the operator of the “Steel Border” unit and his point of view as he pursues an enemy vehicle driving over the border towards Kharkiv, a city that has been the target of Moscow’s offensive.

“Come on, come on, come on,” soldiers dressed in military camouflage and FPV (First Person View) drone goggles are heard muttering in Ukrainian.

Within seconds, the airboat dropped from the sky and zipped into a small opening behind what Ukraine’s National Border Guard Service identified as a Russian-made UAZ military truck.

That’s when the drone “delivered an explosive gift,” the service said.

The kamikaze drone’s camera instantly went black — probably caused by a violent explosion from its rear-mounted grenade launcher that destroyed the drone and its enemy at once.

The soldiers cheered with joy at their success in protecting their border.

Stay up-to-date on the situation of the Ukrainian counterattack

  1. Bakhmut: Ukrainian troops continue to advance south of the Russian-held city of Bakhmut in the east, with the enemy trying to hold back the advance and recover lost positions in the Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Klishchiivka districts. So far, Ukraine is said to have liberated nearly 17 square miles of territory in the area.
  2. Lyman: Towards Lyman in the east, the Russians reportedly regrouped and attacked Ukrainian positions around the towns of Kreminna, Belogorivka and Novoyehorivka.
  3. Avdiivka: In the direction of Avdiivka west of Donetsk, the Russians attacked several settlements with artillery and mortar fire in an attempt to gain full control of the area, but Moscow forces made no confirmed advances.
  4. Mariinka: Ukrainian defenses are said to be continuing to block the advance of enemy troops in the Mariinka area, Dontesk region, where at least four villages were shelled.
  5. Zaporizhzhia: Kyiv troops advanced about 3 miles southeast of the strategically important Robotyne settlement in western Zaporizhzhia region, which was liberated this week. The Ukrainians entrenched their position and destroyed the area, which was a retreat to Tokmak — an important Russian-occupied rail hub.

Footage taken from another vantage point confirmed that they had completed their mission.

A rapid explosion could be seen detonating in the bed of the truck the drone was flying through, followed by a thick stream of thick black smoke.

The car continued to move on the dirt road but finally stopped when it crashed into a tree.

No one emerged from the destroyed UAZ truck, according to Ukrainian officials.

“Hands of a master,” Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said Wednesday on Xformerly known as Twitter.

Ukrainian officials believe the Russian truck was headed for Kharkiv, a key battleground in Moscow’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine.

The Kremlin has repeatedly tried to seize the territory, but the Ukrainian army has successfully prevented them for more than a year and a half.
