Singer Britney Spears and Will.i.am team up for another collaboration!
Last August, the pop star teamed up with Sir Elton John for his “Tiny Dancer” mix called “Hold Me Closer.” The single marks Britney’s first song in six years, and the first to be released after a 13-year conservatorship ends in November 2021.
Now that the pop star is free to shape her career on her own terms, it seems like she’s picking and choosing which jobs to take on carefully… which makes her collaboration with Will.i.am even more special!

On Monday night, the Black Eyed Peas frontman revealed that he and Britney have created a new song that will drop on Tuesday, July 18. He shared a short video on Instagram teasing the upcoming song, which included a short sample of the song. might sound like.
The clip begins with vocals from their previous collaboration, “Scream & Shout.” Will.i.am’s voice begins with the line, “You now, now rock / Will.I.Am and…,” before he adds his iconic “Britney, b*tch.” This time, however, Britney added, “Mind your own business, b*tch!”

In the caption, Will.i.am wrote, “Uh oh!!! This summer is going to be hot!!!” Britney didn’t make her own Instagram post to promote the collaboration, but she did share her post to her Instagram Story. Her husband, Iranian actor Sam Asghari, dropped three “???” emojis on the post, while her BFF, Paris Hilton, wrote “#Sliving Icons” next to a heart eye emoji and two fire emojis.
Although there was a music video for “Hold Me Closer”, neither Britney nor Elton John appeared in it. Fans are hoping things will be different for Britney’s latest hit. “Yes!! We need ICONIC music videos like Scream & Shout. Help!!” shouted one fan, while other followers were already thinking of ideas for other collaborations.

“OH MY GOD!! @iamwill please get Britney and Shakira together for a music collaboration. The world needs this,” another follower asked. “I’m going to Scream & Scream!” a third fan teased. While many followers were excited, not everyone was, with some fans pointing out that the voice in the video didn’t sound like Britney at all.
“I’m not happy about this… doesn’t sound like Britney,” one user wrote. “Is this Myah Marie singing for Britney Spears or another impersonator?!? Myself and MANY fans are curious. This is NOT the OG doll, Miss Britney Jean Spears. Good luck @iamwill,” another user commented. It’s worth noting that “Scream & Shout” was released in 2013, about ten years ago, so it makes sense that the 41-year-old pop star’s voice naturally changed in that time!

Last September, the rapper teased that the two were working together again in an interview on “Good Morning Britain.”
“Yes, there is something in the works,” he said at the time, adding, “I can’t reveal. I live a very private life.”
