Will Smith, who faced public criticism over his famous 2022 Oscar snub, is back in the entertainment industry as he lets fans in on his latest project, which will be released in early December.
The famous actress is featured in the upcoming slave-inspired film “Emancipation” based on real-life events, and she couldn’t help but show fans on Instagram the brutal makeup that was done on her for her performance.

While uploading a candid image of the real-looking creative art done to her upper body, Smith praised the mastermind, Judy Murdock, behind the piece in the attached caption. He wrote:
“Judy has done my makeup on almost all of my films and let me tell you, she went WILD on #emancipation.”
In the picture, the 54-year-old man is seen standing shirtless and raising his left hand to fully display the blood-covered whiplash, applied to the elbow and spreading from the chest to the waist.
He certainly looks like an enslaved person, as he has a mini afro, matching beard, and created fake scars. Despite the criticism Smith faced for physically attacking comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards, more than half a million fans responded to his latest post with love.
Some also commented, expressing their happiness about her return to acting while others praised Judy, calling her the best in the game. One fan declared, “The most dynamic duo. We. Stan. Judy,” while another gushed, “Mannnn.. Talk about TALENT!”
Less than a month before the update, the “Men in Black” cast invited a select group of friends to a private screening of the upcoming “Emancipation,” The Blast reported.

Among the guests was Dave Chappelle, no doubt surprising to fans as Chappelle was among those who condemned The Fresh Prince for an Oscar shot. As seen in one of Smith’s Instagram posts, the photo carousel shows the “Chappelle’s Show” star among other celebrities such as Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Tyler Perry, Fawn and Kenya Barris.
In the first image, Chappelle is seen looking up at the camera as the host takes a selfie with him and other guests. He is featured again in the following slide and can be seen standing up during a conversation with a seated guest.
The 49-year-old was dressed casually for the gathering as he wore oversized brown round neck shorts and black pants paired with a simple necklace on top. And in one of the pictures, behind him is a spotlight that highlights the projector screen with the name of the film. Smith then wrote in the caption,
“EPIC night!! Thanks for coming to see #Emancipation. Hope you will enjoy!!”
Over five thousand comments poured in including one from Barris that read, “Tonight was MAGIC, and your film is truly something that will last forever!” It is important to know that “Emancipation” is set in Louisiana during the American Civil War. In addition, it will show the “Bad Boys” star playing the role of Peter, a man who escapes from slavery, begins his search for freedom.
The film is directed by Antione Fuqua and will be Smith’s first Hollywood film since the Oscar fiasco when he slapped and yelled at Rock for joking about his wife’s alopecia condition.
Former ‘King Richard’ Co-Star Believes She And Chris Rock Will Reconcile With Time
Following an unfortunate incident at the 2022 Academy Awards, Smith and Rock naturally fell out and are still not on speaking terms. However, The Blast noted that there is a possibility that the two might get back together as former “Wild Wild West” co-star Bai Ling believes they “will end up being good friends.”
Fans will recall that Smith was punished for his despicable actions at the Oscars as he was banned from attending the Academy Awards for a decade. Meanwhile, Ling insisted that the Grammy Award recipient has a lot of humility and is growing into a “better person.”
According to The US Sun, he mentioned that people made mistakes and acknowledged the mistakes of his former star’s actions, which he believed needed to be “recognized and changed.”
Although Ling believes Smith deserves to be forgiven, Rock has yet to receive his apology for more than eight months. Even so, he insists they will reconcile, but “it will take some time.”
