Wisconsin Taco John’s bans unsupervised kids after thefts, rocks thrown at worker

A restaurant in Wisconsin has banned unsupervised children after a high school student allegedly stole from the premises and threw rocks at employees.

Taco John’s in Waukesha posted a sign on its door stating that “due to some recent events” anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to eat inside.

The youths were reported to have “stolen soda, stolen condiments, left a large mess, disrespected our employees, and played unsafely in our lobby,” the sign said, according to Fox Business.

Some young hooligans even threw rocks at a staff member, a manager told Fox 6.

Taco John’s is located across from the high school, but management did not call police about the incident, the outlet reported.

“While this is unfortunate for a respectful and well-behaved minor, this is not a decision we make and does not take lightly,” management wrote.

Several restaurants across the country have taken similar steps to combat unruly minors wreaking havoc in their eateries.

Nettie’s Spaghetti House in Tinton Falls, NJ, announced in early March it would no longer serve children.

“We love children. We really, really, do. But lately, it’s been very challenging to accommodate children at Nettie’s,” wrote the restaurant’s management in a Facebook Post. “Between the noise level, lack of space for high chairs, cleaning up the crazy mess, and the liability of kids running around the restaurant, we have decided that it is time to take control of the situation.

“We know that this will make some of you very upset, especially those of you with very well-behaved children, but we believe this is the right decision for our business moving forward,” the restaurant said at the time.

At the same time, a Chick-fil-A in Royersford, Pa., banned anyone under the age of 16 from eating at their restaurant without an adult after a series of “unacceptable behaviors,” including children under loud age, cursing and being rude to staff.

They also sweep the decorations while throwing away food and trash and leaving it on the table.

“As you can imagine, this was not a pleasant experience. We want to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our guests and staff, and also to protect our building. Therefore, we cannot allow this to continue,” Chick-fil-A said.
