Career
In 2000, he released his debut album with bandmate Llandel Malave. El Sobreviviente, his debut solo album, was released in 2004. Wisin released his second solo studio album, El Regreso del Sobreviviente, ten years later in 2014. Wisin is currently on tour with Prince Royce as part of their Power and Love project. Wisin and Yandel first met at school. In the late 1990s, they became close friends and began performing as a duet.
They finally released their first album, Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, in 2000. They then sought to break through to major labels with Mi Vida… My Life, their debut for Universal subsidiary Machete Music in 2003. Then, in 2005, they published Pa’l Mundo, which became a mainstream hit. Wisin and Yandel then launched their own label, WY Records, and introduced an associate group, Los Vaqueros. The pair took a sabbatical in November 2013, following their Lderes tour, although despite speculation that their split was due to disagreements, Yandel disputed the claims and clarified that they had not disbanded.
