Woman, 73, thought to be asleep on British Airways flight from London to Nice was actually dead: report

A 73-year-old woman on board a British Airways flight this week who was thought to be sleeping has actually died, reportedly after suffering a heart attack mid-air.

Fellow passengers on Thursday’s flight from London to Nice realized something was wrong when they landed and the woman remained silent as the others went to get their luggage to disembark.

Others on the flight became more concerned when they were unable to wake the old woman.

The terrified passenger alerted the flight crew, who contacted emergency services. Paramedics tried to revive him, but could not, French newspaper The Connexion reported.

The woman was pronounced dead at 10 p.m

He is suspected to have died of a heart attack, the French publication said.

British Airways confirmed to the Daily Mail that “sadly a customer died on a flight from London Heathrow to Nice.”

In June, a British man died on a flight from London to New York after suffering an asthma attack and dropping his inhaler.

Shimoin Brauer, 25, from London, collapsed when he panicked and the inhaler slipped from his finger about 45 minutes before his flight was scheduled to land in the Big Apple.

Crews tried to give him oxygen and perform CPR, but were unable to revive him.
