Woman scared of ‘bad weather’ calls cops to report fake burglary

An Alabama woman called 911 to report a false burglary at her home because she feared “bad weather,” according to police.

Kelley Giniebra, 39, called the emergency dispatch center in her hometown of Dothan on Jan. 9, claiming there was a burglary in progress at her home, the Dothan Police Department revealed in a press release Thursday.

When officers arrived at the woman’s home on Johnson Circle, they quickly determined that no break-in had occurred.

“Ginibera has reported that to get officers to respond to his residence more quickly because he is afraid of bad weather,” police said.

Dothan – a city of 71,000 located about 100 miles southwest of Montgomery – saw some “rain of heavy intensity” on the day of the incident, according to information from world-weather.info.
