Women and nonbinary skiers to zip naked down Colorado mountain at ‘liberating’ festival: ‘Full-frontal freedom’

Female and non-binary skiers will get the chance to strip down a Colorado mountain as part of a festival organizers describe as “full-frontal freedom” — and no, there won’t be any men sneaking up on any scantily clad ski bums.

The Boot Tan Festival is gearing up for its fourth year inviting women to hit the slopes completely naked for an after-hours ski run at Sunlight Mountain Resort in Glenwood Springs on March 29-30.

Founder Jenny Verrochi, 33, said the event started “accidentally” to create a “safe space” among female skiers that would allow “free women” in private places.

This year, she has opened the festival to non-binary individuals who perform femme as well, she told The Post Thursday.

Verrochi also said his first and foremost priority was “protecting women.”

When asked if she’s afraid men might try to sneak in under non-binary guises — as seen at women’s tech job fairs — Verrochi isn’t worried.

“We’ve never had a problem with men or identifying with men.”

For women who may be tired, they don’t have to take off their clothes, but Verrochi — who is also in the event — said they don’t want to do that by the end of the event.

“No one wears clothes at the end of the day,” he revealed.

She described the experience as “collective joy” and said most women felt free to take off their birthday clothes because they were among like-minded people and there were no peeps around.

Women will dress up on the ski lift and fully clothed before re-entering Sunlight Mountain Resort facilities.

In addition, only female staff will be on the mountain when women and femmes zip down — and male employees will have their phones turned off for safety reasons, Verrochi told The Post in a phone interview.

Literal ski bums will be packed with their stuff at the bottom of the mountain.

Participants will need to check in to the event and extra security will be on hand to keep women and men safe, Verrochi said.

In addition, the slopes that the women will use after hours are closed with no other cross paths, leaving zero room for sneaky men to try and reach the top, he said.

The resort will be open to everyone — including men — during the day, but after the 3pm closing time, only those with Boot Tan Festival tickets will be allowed to stay and shred.

During the day, women-owned vendors will be in the spotlight at the merchant village and festivities including comedy shows, live music and tailgate parties.

Each year, Verrochi hopes the women find a “new love for their bodies” and leave with “new friendships” and experiences.

“It was amazing [hosting the event],” the Carbondale native told The Post of the “liberating” event. “We call it full-frontal freedom.”

“I’m very lucky this is my job.”

The event started in 2021 with just 27 backcountry skiers before increasing to 200 in the second year and 350 in the third.

This year, an expected 1,500 women and female-identifying beginners to expert skiers will strip down for a fun run at Sunlight Mountain, about 160 miles outside of Denver.

The March 29 event costs $169 for one day of skiing and $200 for two days. There are also tailgate only tickets that cost $100.

It’s also the first year the event will take place at Sunlight Mountain, which has a ski lift, making it open to beginners. The event’s previous location, Bluebird Backcountry, closed, but the Carbondale native still wants to keep it close to home.
