Valerie Loureda is best known for her time as an MMA fighter. However, she recently closed that chapter and opened a new one in WWE when the Miss MMA model announced earlier this year that she had signed a contract with WWE, ending her time in MMA for good.

Bellator President Scott Coker released a statement to MMA Fighting regarding Loureda’s decision to move to WWE:

“Valerie Loureda is a very young and talented athlete who can achieve a lot in MMA for years to come, but for now we wish her the best of luck as she pursues her dream of becoming a WWE Superstar. He will remain an active fighter and under contract with Bellator, and we look forward to welcoming him back to the cage in the near future. We are very proud to allow our athletes to test themselves in additional arenas such as boxing and pro wrestling.”

Loureda thanked Bellator executives for believing in him, saying, “Scott Coker and Mike Kogan, Rich Chou, they believed in me when I was 19 years old. My first professional fight was bareback at Mohegan Sun. I am opening the main card. They let me open the main card. They allowed me to brand myself, build this platform and be me. I’m making this transition, and my mind has changed, but I know what I’m going to do in WWE.”

The 23-year-old said, “I love to fight, but this is my time.”
