Wynonna Judd Says Brandi Carlile Was ‘First To Respond’ After Naomi Judd’s Death

Singer Wynonna Judd shared some new information with fans as she approaches the final week of The Judds Tour.

His mother, country singer Naomi Judd, took her own life last April. The two formed a country music duo known as The Judds and were due to go on their last tour together later that year.

Unfortunately, due to the passing of her mother, Wynonna decided to continue touring solo. However, he is not alone. Many stars in the country music community showed up to help him kick off the tour, including singer Brandi Carlile.

In her latest Instagram post, Wynonna shared a black-and-white photo of the two of them on tour together. “Thinking about a lot this week, as we approach the final weekend of The Judds tour…” he wrote.

“When mom passed away in April last year, @brandicarlile was the first person to respond. She flew to Nashville {twice} to sing at {both} memorials. I will never forget his kindness and his gentleness towards my family.”

“Then the tour begins. He appeared again. Brandi knows every word to every song, every note, every breath. He was present at every soundcheck, every rehearsal, ready & willing to sing on every song,” he explained. “I really don’t know people like this girl, she is in class alone. He’s one of my favorite people on the planet, certainly professionally, and now personally.”

“The fact that this tour started in September with Brandi, and ends with her this weekend…is something very sacred to me. I am very grateful to this woman and her gift,” he concluded. “Savannah, Tampa, Hollywood…I promise you won’t be disappointed.”

Brandi Responds: ‘I Will Always Adore and Respect You’

Brandi commented on the post, writing, “This is the least I could do for the way Judd and you in particular have done miracles in my life and family. When you lose your mom, I just want to be there for you as much as possible so you can see the real life evidence of someone you and your mom helped.”

“I will always adore and respect you Wy,” he added. “You and cactus and the whole circus you hang out with are our family now. Well done my powerful friend. I’m a lucky girl.”
