The incredible Zendaya shared some insight into her relationship with retired fashion stylist Lawrence “Law” Roach, who she has worked with since 2011.

Viewers assumed the “Spiderman” actor’s body language implied he was ignoring her, sparking speculation about a possible rift between the two. Roach eventually addressed the rumours, insisting their relationship remains strong. However, that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from spinning.
Finally, the 26-year-old, in her latest ELLE Magazine feature, breaks her silence on the viral moment, confirming her old style’s words. “When it happened, I said, ‘Oh no, I hope people don’t try to make something out of this,'” he explained.
He reminisced about the show as much as Roach, recalling that the two were delayed in traffic and had to rush to the front row at the event, where they tried to find their seats. The viral clip lacked audio but showed the Disney alum pointing at the row behind him, which viewers took to be a tip for the celebrity stylist. However, it was to his assistant, Darnell.
“We’re so used to sitting together that he doesn’t know where to go,” explained Zendaya. “But obviously, people want to assume the worst, which is not always easy to deal with and painful.”
Despite the seating controversy, the owner of the Deliciously Vintage boutique declared that Zendaya never stopped supporting him. He shared with the magazine,
“I am grateful that people like the work and understand the story. And I am grateful that he gave me the opportunity to shine. It’s not often that such a big star is so generous and understanding when someone basically wants to step out. He is one of my biggest supporters.”

Although fans thought Zendaya might have caused Roach to retire, she revealed that she is still involved in his life and continues to style him. According to the Emmy Award winner:
“I ride great for my team, especially for the people I love. He was involved in every fashion contract, everything I did. If I have an opportunity where he can come with me, he will always be there.”
She added, “She’s always been my creative director in a sense, and she continues to fill that role because it’s more than just a dress on the red carpet. It’s a bigger thing.”
He also confirmed to the magazine that he has become Zendaya’s creative director, adding, “Our relationship is like family, so I don’t think I’m going anywhere — and even if I wanted to, he wouldn’t let me.”

A month after Roach announced her retirement, she and Zendaya graced the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center in Mumbai in coordinating Indian couture on the red carpet.
As seen on the Chicago native’s Instagram, the “Malcolm & Marie” actress wore a shimmery purple custom sari-inspired dress while her companion rocked a floor-length floral two-piece black dress.
Roach was honored to be invited to the event and expressed as much in the caption, adding, “I’m bringing my main girl to Mumbai!” She also called Zendaya her “stylist” in another post that featured Zendaya adjusting her snake-shaped Bulgari necklace.

The break comes after the Gem Award winner explained how the “Watch Me” singer received the news of her retirement. She opened up in an episode of Emily Ratajkowski’s “High Low With Emrata” podcast, saying “it was hard for her.”
Roach further clarified that he announced his leave before talking to Zendaya. However, he supports her and even asks if she wants a vacation while telling her that he is always there for her.
