Who Are Bethel Zoe Sozo’s Parents?
Zoe Sozo Bethal was born to her parents Glynis and Orlando Bethal. His parents have gained notoriety as serial lawsuit filers and evangelists. They gained notoriety and local media attention through public antics as well as legal battles with school boards, other government entities and businesses.
His mother, who describes herself as a “fire and brimstone preacher” and her husband have filed a 12-page complaint in US District Court in Nashville. He has gained more attention after moving to Nashville in 2010.
In September 2011, Glynis caused the Baldwin County school system to go into lockdown due to threatening phone calls. He is being held without bail in the Baldwin County jail. Glynis, in April 2011, sued an Ohio school district for $1 million over an incident involving a T-shirt worn by Zoe that read “god hates whores” and “repent or burn in hell.”. In that time, they have filed more than 50 similar federal lawsuits, mostly in the South.
In 2002, Zoe’s father, Orlando, was asked to sing at Glynis’ uncle’s funeral claiming that he had had a revelation from God that led him to insult mourners and say that the dead are cursed. He told 100 mourners that they were “harlots” and “fornicators.”
Glynis and Orlando moved from Miami to rural Alabama in early 2000. They settled on an acre of land Glynis inherited from her grandfather. The Advocate listed the Bethel family as one of 11 “The Haters” groups to watch out for in March 2012.
The outlet wrote, “Glynis Bethel and husband Orlando Bethel travel the country with their three teenage daughters in their “Hell Van,” which is emblazoned with messages about “wholesalers” and the like. They have helped the Westboro Baptist Church in protests and have a thing for homemade T-shirts.”
Zoe’s parents have also authored a book titled Be a MODEL for the GOSPEL (Bible Answers to Questions About S**).

Zoe Sozo Bethal’s mother is Glynis Bethel. In November 2020, she posted a photo of her mother and wrote as a caption, “10 years ago with my Mom (Glynis) at my first photo shoot! She would always go behind the scenes with me to make sure my wardrobe was the MODEST. I didn’t understand at the time, but I appreciate him watching over me.”
She probably died of breast cancer after 2010. People who knew her described her as a “seamstress, pianist, vocalist, teacher, model and World Traveller”. Zoe paid tribute to her mother on Mother’s Day 2020 on her Facebook.
Born on June 26, Glynis Bethel was 49 years old in 2011. That means she would have been 59 years old if she lived until February 2022.
