Zooey Deschanel thinks it’s “too soon” to reboot her hit sitcom, “New Girl.” The show aired on Fox from 2011 to 2018 and featured Deschanel as teacher Jessica Day. The actor spoke to Us Weekly (per KoiMoi.com) about a possible reboot and said the show “needs a little more time” between the original and the reboot.
He said, “We always talk about ‘500 Days of Summer’ [and] what a different perspective on that.” However, Deschanel shared that she misses her co-stars, including Max Greenfield and Jake Johnson. Greenfield plays Schmidt, while Johnson plays Nick Miller.
“The thing I want to visit again is my friends. I saw my co-stars from ‘New Girl’ more than my family for seven years. I appreciate being able to work with them, so the thought of revisiting this is relatable to people,” added Deschanel.
He Thought The Prince’s Cameo Was A Prank

Deschanel also revealed in another interview that she thought Prince’s iconic cameo in “New Girl” was originally a joke. The “Yes Man” star said he was surprised when his manager told him he was a big fan of the show and wanted the show.
Deschanel and Prince eventually had a duet of “Fallinlove2nite” in a 2014 episode. Their song was eventually released as a single from the show, which also surprised Deschanel. This was two years before the legendary singer’s death in 2016 from an accidental drug overdose.
During his interview with Caretaker, the actress expressed her surprise about Prince as a fan. He said, “When he contacted me through his manager, I thought someone was playing a trick on me and I asked my agent: ‘Can you find out if this is really Prince’s manager?’ I recorded a song for the show, but when he said they were going to release it, I was like: ‘What? Single with a Prince?!’ It was a moment of pinching myself.”

Earlier this year, Deschanel and Scott unveiled their newly renovated family home. The revelation was a cover story for the June issue of Scott magazine with his brother, Drew+Jonathan Revealed. During the interview, Scott said the house is a 1938 Georgian estate that is now a “beautiful house with a lot of history.”
Deschanel also praised their renovation, saying they built it to meet their “tastes and needs, aesthetically and functionally.” She said, “Jonathan is amazing to think about. He’s been doing it for his clients for so long, and now he’s doing it for us and our family.”
The couple also said the converted five-bedroom property was their “dream home”. Deschanel and Scott now live there with their two children, Charlie and Elsie, who she shares with ex Jacob Pechenik.
During a previous interview with People’s Magazine, Scott discusses the importance of renovating their home. The reality TV star spoke about the importance of building a home for their family, somewhere that “will grow” with the children. He said he and Deschanel “were literally this house to solve every problem we had.”
