Fans asked for it and they got what they wanted because Slaton will be back for season 5 of “1000-Lb Sisters.”
While rumors previously suggested that TLC’s fan-favorite show, which featured sisters Tammy and Amy on their weight loss journey, would end after season four, sources have now indicated that a new episode is in the works. Many viewers have been clamoring for the show’s return, with many taking to social media to express their enthusiasm.
Tammy & Amy Slaton Are Ready To Resume Filming For Their Top-Rated Reality TV Series
Slaton fans can finally stop worrying about the future of their beloved reality television series after an insider shared that “1000-Lb Sisters” is set to resume filming for a fifth season after a weeks-long hiatus. In case you missed it, the season four cameras stopped filming after they caught Tammy at her late husband Caleb Willingham’s funeral last month.
Exclusively talking about the return of the series TLCinsiders tell US Sun that the upcoming season will focus on “Tammy’s upcoming skin removal surgery.” After her gastric bypass surgery last year, the “1000-Lb. Sisters” star achieved significant weight loss, going from 717 pounds to nearly 340 pounds between Fall 2021 and this past summer, totaling nearly 400 pounds.

However, this rapid weight loss has resulted in excess skin, which she is reportedly ready to address with surgery. According to the source, the fifth season will highlight the 37-year-old’s preparation for the procedure, although a specific timeline has not been announced yet.
In the case of her older sister, Amy, it remains to be seen whether her latest romantic interest, Tony Rodgers, will be featured on the show. Although her intentions regarding the series are unclear, the lover is said to have moved in with the 35-year-old.
Although the couple have only been dating for just over four months, it seems that Tammy does not approve of the relationship. As the source previously claimed, during the group’s recent road trip, the reality star commented that Tony and Amy were “fighting so much that they missed a lot of exits and were just yelling at each other the whole time.”
“They still act like a happy couple,” the insider claimed again. The relationship comes shortly after Amy and her ex-husband, Michael Halterman, battled it out in divorce and custody court.
The former couple share two sons Gage and Glenn, with Halterman featuring in the previous season’s “1000-Lb. Siblings.” Unfortunately, the whistleblower claims that the 40-year-old is now “out of the picture.”
Although TLC has not officially announced plans for season five, Tammy shared with her fans on TikTok that the second half of season four is scheduled to be released on December 12, 2023.
