Unfortunately, Depp’s look, along with other leading actors who spoke positively about it, couldn’t garner better ratings since it appeared on HBO.
Recently, it was revealed that its debut season has been cut to five episodes from the six-episode order originally ordered in 2021.
While the change may come as a surprise, insiders say it was done as a result of editing issues rather than poor ratings.
“The season ends with five episodes when all is said and done after Sam takes over and makes significant changes. The story only needs five,” the insider said TV Line.
As for the future of the show, HBO has yet to reveal a decision, although they did tweet recently to clear up the rumors swirling online.
