A Florida high school turned into a fight club where hay makers, pushing and wrestling crossed the hallways earlier this week, leading to the arrest of 13 students.
Several fights broke out throughout Tuesday at Zephyrhills High School while videos posted to various social media sites showed different angles of the fight.
In the now-viral video, classmates can be heard encouraging the brawlers, “let’s go to class,” among other verbal commands.
School security officers and teachers unsuccessfully tried to break up the fight involving 14 students.
“The number of students involved and the intensity of the situation made intervention challenging, as students continued to engage in altercations despite efforts to defuse them,” the Pasco County School District said in a statement, according to Fox13.
A video allegedly shows school principal Christina Stanley being thrown to the ground as she tries to separate two students with the help of another school staff member.
In another video, several female students punched and kicked a helpless peer who was lying on the ground.

At one point, students threw punches at each other as they crashed through the door causing several of the brawlers to fall on top of each other.
The school district superintendent condemned the student’s violent behavior following the commotion.
“Let me be clear: this type of behavior will not be tolerated in the Pasco School District. Every student deserves a safe and conducive learning environment, and we will take every step necessary to ensure this remains,” said Pasco Schools Superintendent Kurt Browning in a statement.
The footage also shows police officers arriving on campus as they were called to “help keep the peace,” according to Fox13.

The school was briefly placed under “campus control, out of an abundance of caution” as police officers arrived to “help keep the peace,” according to Fox13.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said there was no threat to the school.
Law enforcement remained on campus for the remainder of the school day as staff and student movement was restricted through dismissal.

The 13 arrested students face charges of disruption of school functions and may also face discipline from the district, according to the outlet.
Parents expressed frustration with the fight, and with the district, as they fear for their children’s safety, with some not sending their children to school the next day.
“This is a large number of students attacking each other and then when your safety, your teachers are now trying to help the situation, they are also victims themselves,” parent Kuilani Hafoka Barreno told WFLA.

“Staff were injured, children were injured, and it was completely out of control and they couldn’t control it. And that’s a very scary thing,” said Danielle Marie, whose son attended the school before she transferred him to another school because of frequent “incidents,” the outlet reported.
“I just decided that he will not attend the school anymore because it has gotten too out of control,” he added.
In 2017, a 14-year-old Zephyrhills student was arrested when he threatened to bring a machete into the high school and kill two students.
He claimed the social media message was a prank as he was later taken to a juvenile facility.
