A 16-year-old girl has disappeared after leaving her home in Georgia wearing nothing but her pajamas and sweatshirt following a suspected mental breakdown.

Hydi Cain disappeared on the morning of January 7 following a “psychotic episode,” according to the missing poster.

Fayetteville police near Atlanta have launched a search for Cain, who is described as 5-foot-1, 130 pounds, and blonde.

The missing poster added that the teenager was in “great danger.”

The City of Fayetteville Department of Public Safety shared information on social media Saturday about Hydi’s disappearance.

Police suggested that Hydi may have dyed her hair black since disappearing.

“On January 7, 2024, Hydi Cain left her residence early in the morning,” they wrote in a Facebook post.

“He was last seen wearing pajamas, a sweatshirt and no shoes. Any information on Hydi’s whereabouts, please contact Detective Lindsey Fogler or Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta,” the post concluded.

“Being a parent to an adult is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. They think they know what’s out there. But they don’t,” he wrote on Facebook last week.

“Please help me bring my daughter home safely,” he continued. “The police are involved, but there is still no information on his whereabouts, and his mother and younger sister are worried that he is ill.”
