At least two people were killed and 18 others injured after a shooting occurred as hundreds of Halloween revelers left the festivities in Tampa, Florida early Sunday morning.
Two gangs began fighting about 3 a.m. as bars and clubs in the Ybor City neighborhood began to close for the night, sending hundreds of Halloween partygoers into the streets, Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said.
“Between these two groups, we have hundreds of innocent people involved that get in the way,” Bercaw said, according to WFLA.

The shooting killed two people and sent 18 others to the hospital.
Bercaw did not share the extent of the injuries, and it was unclear whether all those injured were hit by gunfire or injured in the ensuing panic.
Video of the horrific incident shows people dressed in drinking clothes and talking in the street when gunshots rang out, sending people into a panic.
About a dozen shots were heard followed a few seconds later by a volley of about eight shots.

Video of the aftermath shows officers helping victims into costumes as they bleed on the sidewalk, while others quickly flee the scene.
Police officers were already on the scene when the shooting began, and no personnel were injured, Bercaw said.
“We’re asking anyone out there who has video – and we know there are some out there because we’ve seen it on social media – anyone who has this video, please report it to us,” Bercaw said. “Call our non-emergency line at 813-231-6130.”

At least one person involved in the shooting surrendered to police custody, Bercaw said, adding that at least one other gunman was at large.
“We have to hold it [responsible] responsible,” he said.
It’s unclear if the people involved in the fight were inside any bars or clubs in the neighborhood before the shooting.
