A woman died in a horrific accident when she fell off a bus and was hit by a train.

Julia de Albuquerque Violato, 37, was on her way to drop off clothes at a charity shop in Brasilia, Brazil, when the bus she was traveling on derailed on a train track.

Shocking footage captures the moment an approaching freight train moves towards a bus honking its horn.

Unable to stop in time, the train can then be seen hitting the side of the bus, killing the 37-year-old man who was reportedly cut in half.

According to Fire officials, Violato was thrown from the bus window and run over by the train.

Violato’s distraught mother described her daughter as “fearless and brave.”

“It is my love. Julia is the youngest child, she lives with me and is my friend,” said Ana Rosa to local media.

“We do everything together. He is my best travel companion.

“He takes care of me, because, although an active person, I am old. He always said he didn’t want to die before me. He cares about me a lot and loves me a lot. I don’t know how I will live without him.”

Ms Violato had graduated in fine arts from the University of Brasília and was on her way to a charity shop to drop off clothes when the accident happened.

“He always brings people together. For him, there is no difference, anyone can be a friend,” said Ms. Rosa.

The heartbroken mother will reportedly take action against the bus company, where four others were also injured.

One suffered head injuries and broken bones, another suffered serious head trauma and was taken to hospital unconscious, and another suffered abrasions to his face and arms.

The bus driver was reportedly shocked and had a nervous breakdown.

Authorities cordoned off the area and an investigation into the accident is underway.
