Since British novelist Ian Fleming created the fictional character in 1953, he has been portrayed in several films by some of Hollywood’s best male actors. The last MI6 agent to rock the world was Daniel Craig, and his successor is reportedly Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Following claims that he is taking over the reins, the 33-year-old has apparently denied receiving an offer for the iconic character. In a new interview, he claims he can only tackle confirmed projects like his latest film, “Kraven the Hunter.”

Rumors about Taylor-Johnson’s Bond role began when sources claimed that Eon Productions, which makes the spy film, will reportedly begin filming this year with the 33-year-old actor as their male lead.

“Bond is Aaron’s job, if he wants to accept it. An official offer is on the table, and they are waiting to hear back,” claimed a source, according to The Sun, who stated that an official announcement could be made soon, saying :

“As for Eon, Aaron will sign his contract in the next few days, and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”

The insider also confirmed that a script for a new Bond film is being worked on, with production scheduled to take place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

However, Craig’s presence was the only thing he considered a hindrance to Elba taking the helm at that time. Broccoli explained that they wanted his last film, “No Time to Die,” to finish its run before considering a new 007 agent.
