Abby Lee Miller recently stated that convicted reality star Todd Chrisley wouldn’t “be able to handle” being in prison because he’s classy. The real estate tycoon and TV personality was sentenced to 12 years in prison in January.

Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were found guilty of tax evasion and bank fraud-related offenses in 2022. Miller himself, who previously served more than seven months in prison, spoke from experience about Chrisley’s sentence.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonightthe “Dance Moms” choreographer revealed how she feels about Todd being behind bars. He explained that it is difficult for celebrities to adjust their sentences and cited his experience as an example.

The 57-year-old served eight months and several weeks in 2017 and 2018 after being found guilty of a similar charge, bankruptcy fraud. Miller noted that Todd would find it hard to fit in with the other inmates because “He’s so Bougie.”

The 53-year-old confirmed this when she revealed on “Chrisley Knows Best” that she spends up to $300,000 a year on clothes. During the interview, Miller said, per Insider“He wouldn’t be able to handle, like, soap and towels.”

Todd And Julie Chrisley Convicted On Fraud Charges

Miller’s comments about Todd came after he and his wife began their prison sentences in January. In June, Todd and Julie were convicted of several tax-related crimes, such as attempting to defraud the IRS. The pair were also found guilty of conspiring to defraud banks of at least $30 million in fraudulent loans.

After months of awaiting their sentences, Todd and Julie received 12 and 7 years, respectively, and 16 months of supervised release. The couple’s former accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also found guilty of conspiring to defraud the IRS and filing false tax returns.

Todd will serve 12 years at the Florida Pensacola Federal Prison Camp, while Julie will serve just seven years at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Miller addresses other challenges celebrities may face in prison by recounting his time in prison. The former owner of ALDC explained that people refused to show it. He said, per Insider, “When I came in, no one wanted to come forward to get me. Some volunteers come and give you tours and all that.”

He also stated that making friends or getting people to talk to him was difficult. “Nobody’s coming except my friend, Michelle, who I still talk to at least once every week.” Despite these problems, he finds a way around the prison and believes Todd will too. Miller said, “I think he’s going to make some trades. There is a way to survive there.”

Miller recalled calling Todd to wish him well before he and Julie began their sentences. They exchanged messages about the situation via Instagram and bonded over the experience. Telling how it happened, Miller stated that he told her to watch herself because it would feel weird at first. “I said, ‘Be careful,'” Miller said.

Todd left a message for fans on a June 2022 episode of his podcast. At the time, the star was overwhelmed by his attempt and expressed how grateful he was for the “messages,” “flower arrangements,” “emails” and “gifts.”

A month later, in July, Todd revealed on his podcast “Chrisley Confession” that he will miss his wife very much. The reality star explained that their marriage has become stronger since the start of the trial, and that she couldn’t have gone this far without him.
