“Dancing With the Stars” is getting ready to kick off a new season, with a new co-host and a new spin!
While no cast has been announced for season 32, aside from reality television star Ariana Madix, fans can look forward to a new co-host as Julianne Hough has been tapped to take over Tyra Banks’ spot. Hough will join “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actor Alfonso Ribero as co-host of the show, while his brother, Derek Hough, will return to the judges’ table alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
Now, ahead of its debut this fall, “Dancing With the Stars” is teasing a new spin on the competition.

The official “Dancing With the Stars” Instagram page shared a new promotional clip, showing new host Julianne Hough and returning co-host Alfonso Ribero, dancing side by side.
The caption, however, is what really caught the attention of fans as the show wrote, “It’s a new spin on Dancing with the Stars! ? .”
They continued, “Coming this fall, stepping into a new season of #DWTS with co-hosts @juleshough and @therealalfonsoribeiro, LIVE on @ABCNetwork & @DisneyPlus, and streaming the next day on Hulu.”
Fans immediately got excited after watching the promo clip as they flooded the comments section. “I LOVE!! that this host is now a pro & a star – both have won the mirror ball!! I think that will bring more knowledge, compassion & fun to the show. Background is so important!! ? can’t wait !! ??,” one fan wrote while another chimed in, “I honestly don’t watch DWS (not reality tv people) but THIS I can’t miss! So excited, come on ??❤️.”
A third wrote, “I can’t wait too need to know which pro is coming back hopefully soon we get an announcement ?”.
While another follower stated, “This is the best decision the show has made in years!!!”
Julianne Hough Takes Over ‘DWTS’ As Host

Julianne Hough spoke to Variety about her return to the ballroom, which she’s very excited about.
“It is an honor to rejoin ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as a co-host. The show has held a special place in my heart over the years and the different roles I’ve been privileged to be a part of,” said Hough. “The incredible team that brings the ballroom to life every night has been my family for the past 17 years. I’m so excited. to reunite with Alfonso, Carrie Ann, Bruno, Derek, incredibly talented professionals, and amazing actors on the dance floor.”
The “Grease” actress and singer first appeared on “Dancing With the Stars” as a pro dancer in 2007. The 34-year-old took home the Mirror Ball trophy twice — once in season four with partner Apolo Anton Ohno and in season five together Hélio Castroneves.
Hough has experience beyond being a professional dancer on the show as she was a judge from 2014-2017. He also returns as a guest judge on the show in 2021. He also has experience hosting television shows. For the past several years, he and his brother Derek Hough have hosted “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” special.
