Actor Joey Lawrence Still Has Plenty Of ‘Whoa’ Moments!

Actor Joey Lawrence is known for his roles in “Blossom,” Gimme a Break,” “Melissa and Joey” and many other popular TV and movie roles. One thing many people think of when they see or hear Lawrence is his iconic “whoa”, and to this day, he still understands!

Lawrence recently had a genuine “whoa” moment while trying a new product. That’s how he knew the partnership was meant to be.

Joey Lawrence Recently Paired With LISTERINE After Having A ‘Whoa’ Moment

The actress and singer has always been a fan of LISTERINE products, so she’s happy to upgrade her oral care routine with their newest line, Clinical Solutions, developed with dentists to help prevent top oral care issues.

Lawrence literally said “whoa” after trying out a new line.

“My dentist always told me to use LISTERINE. I’ve actually been on LISTERINE for years and my kids are on it, and we’ve probably talked about it in the pod,” he exclusively told The Blast.

“The crazy story is, they reach out, like, ‘Hey, we have this brand new Clinical Solutions Antiseptic Line, it’s great, and we want you to try it.’ I said okay great. I’ve tried not to joke, many people say that a week looks different, right? Honest to goodness a week later was like a huge improvement and I couldn’t believe it.”

Lawrence said looking in the mirror one day, she literally said “whoa” because of the difference she noticed since using the new line.

“And I said that word, whoa, sincerely, honestly, I said it. I was like, this is crazy,” he said. “We were talking and I said, ‘Guys, I say whoa when I use this stuff,’ and they were like, ‘Well this is cool because that would make sense. if we could team up.'”

Joey Lawrence’s Iconic ‘Whoa’ Happened By Accident

Lawrence’s famous “Whoa” was not something he set out to create. It actually happened by accident during a scene from his hit show with Mayim Bialik, “Blossom.”

“It was one of those things, before social media, they had written lines in the script to be more like Keanu Reeves’ ‘whoa’ like he said in ‘Speed’ and we had a live audience which was an amazing experience. . And it was in the height of a group of teenage idols that was happening, it was crazy for me at the time,” he told The Blast. “They gave me this line and nobody really laughed. I’ve seen this beautiful girl and been like ‘whoa’ and people are like uh and they’re really not laughing, just giggling.”

So, they tried the line again and still didn’t laugh. That’s when the executive producers told Lawrence they were going to give her a new line. He’s told that when the girl walks in the room and Joey Russo, his character, sees her, don’t think about it and say whatever comes to mind.

“He came in and I was literally like ‘whoa,’ literally, and the audience was laughing. Third take, explode. Producers were like, do it again,” he said. “And the next three months it really blew up.”

The ‘whoa’ stuck and Lawrence said it in several episodes over six or seven years. Still to this day, it is something he is famous for. One might think he’s sick of people asking him to say his iconic “whoa,” but he’s not.

“It never really gets old. It’s a big part of my life to be able to do this at the level that I’ve been able to do this for 40-something years is very rare and I work hard but I’ve also been blessed and very lucky and so I look back on it fondly. It’s really neat,” he said. “Whoa’ was so good to me and I literally said it the first time I used this Clinical Solutions by LISTERINE line. I really did.”

Joey Lawrence Has Lived A Career Filled With Memorable Moments

Lawrence has been active in her acting career since she was a child. He also has a successful music career. When asked if he had a favorite moment, he talked about many things.

“There were a lot of great moments. Having a number one record is great. Being able to tour and perform in front of 70,000 people in a stadium is amazing. Got to work with my brothers, and honestly this pod is a little engine that can. It blew up on us. To have it grow the way it has, top 50 all fruit, it’s amazing,” he told The Blast.

“But I think the greatest moments, I always say, I think, I pray, it’s ahead of me because there’s still a lot of things I haven’t achieved that I want to do, and I hope I get that opportunity. for and so I’m looking forward to some great moments left here.”

‘Brotherly Love’ Podcast Has Been A Success For Joey Lawrence And His Sisters

Lawrence and his two brothers, Matthew and Andy, have a weekly podcast called “Brotherly Love” where they talk about anything and everything.

“It’s just dinner table conversation. I think that’s what people are responding to. We are not a special show,” he said.

“We are not a show where celebrities come and promote something. We just have friends, some of them are celebrities, some of them are not. Some of them are near and dear, but they all have a special place in our hearts. We have our best friends, we have both our parents. It really is dinner table conversation. I think that’s what people have actually answered.”

Lawrence says each episode takes on a life of its own and it’s like an “old closet” where you pull things out and reminisce about them. He said “the reception has been really great.”

Joey Lawrence Has Many Interesting Upcoming Projects In The Works

The actor is a busy dad to three girls ages 17, 14, and 1 ½. In addition to his dad duties and working with LISTERINE, he has some exciting upcoming projects in the works.

Lawrence produced the film, “Heart Attack” and his brother Andy directed it. He is also working on a sequel to their Christmas movie, “Mistletoe Mix Up” which will be released later this year. The Lawrence brothers are also working on their first scripted television show together in 20 years.

And then don’t forget that there’s exciting news about a possible “Blossom” reboot.
